This was discussed in the forums, but they want suggested changes here, so here goes,

The single most critical change GD needs is to get rid of VISION. It was mentioned that some people think that "I have earned it" is a valid excuse to keep it; it most certainly is NOT. Coaches can earn prestige; that is well and good, it is as it should be. But vision on top of prestige is (1) completely redundant, and (2) introduces an absolute limit to recruiting that (a) has no comparison in real life and (b) is a massive rich-get-richer effect (as ranger points out) that grossly imbalances the competition while adding nothing of a helpful nature to the game. It effectively creates a recruit pool of quality players available only to the higher teams. That's just SO bogus.

Even if people would only understand the redundancy that vision represents, they would understand that it brings no value to the game, none whatsoever, and has to go. It is absolutely valueless and the biggest cancer on the game. I don't know how to say it any more clearly or forcefully.

    I would agree with the prestige part for specific D1 schools. However, VISION is earned by winning. It is realistic in that some players will never go to a school that isn’t a winner. RL example South Dakota State, North Dakota State, etc. can recruit players much easier than say UMass. At the D2 level, Ferris/Valdosta St/Slippery Rock are going to get much better players than their peers in D2. Players like winners. It is also called Gridiron Dynasty so the goal is to build a winner at all levels. No player at any level is only available to only one team at that level btw. There is always competition for players regardless of pool size. A coach inherits the schools record, not vice versa. So a NC winning coach that goes to a perennial loser must BUILD the dynasty, he should not get an auto insight into all players. Deon didn’t access to all players initially and neither did Colorado nor have they now. That is real world. IMHO.
