Auto-Waive all 40-Man Players Out of Options Prior to Opening Day

Players that are on the 40-Man Roster and are out of options should have an event and cycle which auto-waves them following the conclusion of Spring Training and Opening Day. Perhaps a notification email and special icon that shows up after the Rule 5 draft so that during Spring Training you can plan ahead for who needs to be added to the ML roster ahead of “Waiver Day”. I think this would add a realistic and fun decision aspect to the game and also open up player distribution a bit.

    This would be great! It’s ridiculous the hoarding that goes on with these players who are just stuck in the minors forever while being out of options.

    Perhaps you wrote that wrong - players on the 40 man and out of options? Completely disagree and don’t think this is realistic either.

      I could have been more clear, not on the major league roster and on the 40 man roster and out of options. You shouldn’t be able to keep players forever in the minors without exposing to the Rule 5 draft.
