HBD Increase Minimum & Maximum amount of Diamonds in the Rough
Currently, the minimum number of ditrs per team, per ditr cycle, is one and the maximum number of ditrs per team, per ditr cycle is three. Change this to a minimum of two and a maximum of four.
This could lead to three things:
It will give the hbd users that don't do much to prepare for ditr day that extra raffle ticket. This could lead to more post round 2 players and lower money IFA players on mlb rosters;
It could give the hbd users that do prepare their rosters for ditr day that extra raffle ticket and instead of getting only one mediocre mlb ditr, maybe they get two mediocre mlb ditrs. This could give them more compensation for their hard work and preparation. It could also lead to more post round 2 players and lower money IFA players on mlb rosters;
After hbd users see the outcome of roster preparation for ditr day, more users may employ their own strategies to prepare their rosters for ditr day. If this happens, we'll likely have more post round 2 players and lower money IFA players on mlb rosters.
This idea combined with the create-a-player idea could likely change the landscape of hbd by getting more lower money IFAs and post round 1 amateur draft players on mlb rosters.

While I’m for the idea, because one of the people who preps for diamonds, those who don’t often end up with scrubs who become more polished scrubs, whereas the ones that do the prep often future ML pieces (everything from role player to starters), I’m afraid it starts to create a gap between those who play HBD for fun and those who obsess over it (like I do at time). But trust me, I’d love to get more than 1 piece a year for the work that I put into it.
To your point 3, I’ve had a few people that have discussed the topic with me say they aren’t interested in putting in that time - but maybe knowing that you could get 3-4 of them, maybe that would? It’s a fine line, just needs to be careful with it.

I think it is even better if combined with the create-a-player idea because, if both were implemented, we'd likely see more 2nd round picks and lower IFA money on mlb rosters (folks drafting or recriting created players) and a higher amount of 3rd round or later picks and lower IFA money players on mlb rosters (more Ditr, in general).
To your point, I definitely don't want to be that guy that only suggests things that help me be more effective at the strategy that I already employ. These are just ideas that I think can be a bit more easily implemented. This is opposed to a creative, but likely unpredictable idea where we cannot foresee the downstream effects. I think the create-a-player and “more ditr” ideas will help hbd get closer in line with real life mlb allocation of players numbers (percentage of players from certain rounds of the draft). Also, the ditr is something already there. No need to brainstorm or implement anything new. Just tweak what's there.
To your point about folks not putting in the time, to me, that is life, in general. If people play a game or do a job or work on a project, they should get back what they put in. If it creates a gap, so be it. The gap is created by grit and merit, not dumb luck.
